 In 2016 , following the territorial reform , the FFF under pressure from the government forced the Midi-Pyrénées League to absorb the Languedoc-Roussillon League in order to model the organization of amateur football on the new administrative regions.

After many negotiations between the two bodies, the merger is pronounced on November 19, 2016following the two extraordinary general assemblies of the two former leagues and thus gave birth to the Occitanie Football League.

En 2016, tras la reforma territorial, la FFF, bajo presión gubernamental, obligó a la Liga Midi-Pyrénées a absorber la Liga Languedoc-Roussillon para adaptar la organización del fútbol amateur a las nuevas regiones administrativas.

 

Tras numerosas negociaciones entre ambas entidades, la fusión se proclamó el 19 de noviembre de 2016, tras las dos asambleas generales extraordinarias de las dos antiguas ligas, dando origen así a la Liga de Fútbol de Occitania.
